Meet Pastor Ramon Nazaire and his family !
He is a Haitian pastor who lives and serves God here in the Dominican Republic.
As I began seeking Haitians to work with here in the DR I was introduced to this man by our local Dominican pastor. Ramon started a Haitian church here 3 years ago in a very poor area of Azua called the “Prado”. Currently his rented building is absolutely maxed out – every seat taken in every service. He and his congregation are praying for God to open the door for another place to worship – or even property to build their own church.
A while back Pastor Ramon asked if we had a concrete mixer he could borrow. He said he was helping a friend install a concrete floor in their house (for free). I said, “OK, we’ll come help you”. So Gabriel (one of our staff) and I loaded up the mixer and drove with Pastor Ramon to his friend’s house. There we met about ten other Haitian men and worked all day together mixing and pouring concrete for Ramon’s friend. That’s the kind of person Ramon is – constantly serving and looking to serve others in the local community.
This past Sunday his congregation went to another church to have Sunday morning service together. I went along and was able to meet another Haitian pastor and his congregation. Pastor Ramon is a kingdom builder and I love that about him. Not just trying to enlarge his own church – but to advance God’s kingdom.
If you would like to donate to help us secure another place of worship for Pastor Ramon’s church, please send a check to Hawaii to Haiti and mark the check “Ramon church”. Or you can now go on our website and donate to Ramon’s church with a credit/debit card.
Thank you and God bless !!
